About Us

The UK’s leading overnight maternity specialist – providing 11 years of peaceful nights for over 5000 parents…

Night Nannies was set up in 1999 in response to a need expressed by parents for help in establishing good sleep habits. Our aim is to provide discreet professional guidance in the first few weeks of a baby’s life, helping babies develop good sleep associations upon which they can build as they get older until they are sleeping through the night.

We can also teach older babies and toddlers to sleep through the night because we understand the disruption that bad sleep habits can cause within a family.

Each regional agency is run by someone who is a mother herself and can therefore understand the needs of her clients. They all take great pride in the quality of the teams they have built, personally interviewing each of the candidates in-depth, following up all references, checking all qualifications and ensuring that they have Enhanced CRB disclosures and First Aid certificates.

Once the Night Nanny is accepted by the agency, each client with whom the Night Nanny is placed will be asked for a reference to ensure that the information on each Night Nanny is completely up to date.

When a client calls any of our offices, you can expect to speak to the owner herself. She will spend time discussing the specific situation so that she can place the Night Nanny who is best-suited to the family. The client will be sent references and career history of a Night Nanny. The agency strongly advises parents to make their own enquiries and checks to satisfy themselves as to the suitability and experience of the Nanny. The agency will maintain contact with the family at regular intervals and will ask for a reference on completion of the placement.

My name is Angela Singleton and I have been running the Night Nannies office covering North East London, East London and Essex since 2004.

The aim of Night Nannies is to help overcome the exhaustion that most parents feel when they have a newborn baby and to show that sleep deprivation doesn’t have to be an automatic part of early parenthood.

As a mum to two young boys, I am well aware how difficult it is to juggle the demands of a new baby with those of a partner, older siblings, the home and a career.

Having a Night Nanny helps greatly with that early transition period by establishing a routine quickly and guiding a baby to sleep through the night. The professional advice and emotional support they offer is invaluable, while not being intrusive.

My excellent team of Night Nannies includes midwives, paediatric nurses, maternity nurses and qualified nannies, all with extensive newborn experience.  Some of my nannies have specialist skills with twins and triplets, and some have dealt with a range of sleep training problems.
